Wilfred Ferwerda
Wilfred Ferwerda studied architecture and engineering at the University of Michigan and the Royal Architecture Institute of Canada Syllabus Program. He was the Project Manager with Ventin Group Architects and the University of Guelph on several award-winning restoration and conservation projects including the Ontario Legislative Building (Queens Park), Toronto Old City Hall and Macdonald Institute.
The opportunity to manage the rehabilitation of a few significant Brutalist buildings on the University of Guelph campus sparked Wilfred's interest in mid-century modernism and led to the co-curation of an exhibit on the University's mid-60s campus master plan and the several fine examples of Brutalist architecture on central campus.
Wilfred is a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Ontario, a Project Management Professional (PMP) with the Project Management Institute and holds a masters degree in leadership studies from the University of Guelph. At Willowbank, Wilfred teaches the Heritage Project Management course.
