Antiy-Demian Savov

Antiy-Demian is a Cultural Heritage Technician and earned an hon. BA degree in Near Eastern and Classical Archaeology from Wilfried Laurier University. He then joined the cultural resource management field in 2016 after which Antiy-Demian went on to acquire a graduate Diploma in Heritage Conservation from the Willowbank School of Restoration Arts. He has hands on experience in traditional practices related to construction and conservation and has done work as a carpenter and heritage wood technician directly conserving heritage resources in a variety of contexts with Heritage Grade in Ottawa and other companies in Ontario. Currently Antiy-Demian works with the Heritage Team at ARA which has given him experience in provincial and municipal legislation and guidelines pertaining to heritage properties, including the Ontario Heritage Act, Official Plans, the Standards and Guidelines for the Conservation of Historic Places, the Standards and Guidelines for Consultant Archaeologists and the Ontario Heritage Toolkit. On an artistic and personal level Antiy-Demian is involved with the study of drawing and geometry with an emphasis on their application when it comes to woodcarving, sculpture and the study of three-dimensional form.
